Wyong Town Centre
Development of conceptual designs for the duplication and realignment of the Pacific Highway through Wyong Town Centre. A number of options considered are:
-
A split carriageway.
-
A land bridge linking the existing town centre to the railway station providing a pedestrian plaza separating highway traffic from the pedestrian areas of the town centre.
Various considerations address how these options might impact and benefit the town centre as the Pacific Highway physically separates the town centre from the railway station. This includes analysis of the existing town centre characteristics, identification of significant heritage buildings and landscape features, management of pedestrian and town centre traffic and linkages to the existing railway station including the development of a bus transit on the eastern side of the railway line are also key considerations.
