Terrigal Apartments
Concept design, design development, SEPP 65 presentation, DA documentation, presentation to the Joint Regional Planning Panel and post DA advice for the redevelopment of an existing conference facility/motel site opposite Terrigal Lagoon and Terrigal Beach for 65 apartments, meeting rooms and recreational facilities. The proposal pays particular attention to managing views to the ocean and lagoon together with sustainable design principles adopting passive cooling, cross ventilation, optimum solar orientation, and minimise the building footprint to create significant internal communal open space areas and deep soil zones.
The development site was one of the last large development areas of 1 hectare in a residential area close to Terrigal village centre. The approved development exceeds council’s maximum height requirements by one storey whilst maximising open space and view sharing. The SEPP 65 committee recommended approval of the development and supported the height increase.
PAADesign also undertook the architectural design and documentation for the development application stage.
