Newcastle City Council in conjunction with Cessnock City Council and Lake Macquarie City Council are undertaking a concept design and environmental assessment for the development of a 32 km shared trail from Kurri Kurri to Shortland. The trail utilises the former Richmond Vale Railway alignment. A visual impact assessment was undertaken as part of the assessment for the trail.

The intent of the trail is to provide a safe cycling and walking experience without the use of current road networks to attract local and regional users and to provide opportunities to grow regional development connected to the proposed trail users.

 

The Visual impact assessment identifies the potential visual impacts and design considerations and measures to minimise the visual impact.
