Pacific Highway Upgrade at Lisarow
Stage 3B of a multi-stage upgrade of the Pacific Highway to a four lane carriageway between Ourimbah Street and Parsons Road in Lisarow. The landscape detailed design involved resolution of a range of complex urban and landscape design issues of the road corridor, which is highly constrained by the topography, an existing railway line and bridge overpass, residential properties and an existing cemetery. Key considerations for the design development and detailed design include:
-
Design development of art work and constructability of the landscape treatment and art work to the railway bridge overdeck. A stone art sculptural treatment based on the local orchard theme that has been slowly lost over time due to urbanisation.
-
Interpretation of a former use being the Pryor Brothers General Store.
-
Access and views to and from the adjoining cemetery.
A Landscape character and visual impact assessment was also carried out. Click here for further information.
