The Gloucester Town Centre study and Development Control Plan is to show how Gloucester Town Centre can plan and develop for change within the commercial core and adjoining areas to meet future requirements for development, the streetscape, gateway treatments, connectivity, car parking and pedestrian amenity.

Extensive consultation was undertaken to understand the community aspirations for growth and change of the town centre. Design principles and guidelines were developed for discussion with the community and then to establish a priority works schedule. The draft Development Control Plan provides the tools for Council to achieve the principles and guidelines developed in the Town Centre study in partnership with the community.
