The M1 Pacific Motorway interchange in Wahroonga is the northern gateway to Sydney and is important to the flow of freight, commercial vehicles and general traffic entering and leaving Sydney from the Central Coast, Hunter, Northern NSW and Queensland.

An Urban design strategy and Landscape character and visual impact assessment develops alternative design options with the selection of a preferred design concept for the on and off ramp design. Design concepts incorporate more dramatic built forms at the entry ramp, accent planting, smaller footprints to lessen impacts on existing vegetation and careful integration of retaining walls.
