Concept master plan for YWAM to enable the staged refurbishment and expansion of the heritage listed Tahlee on the shores of Port Stephens. YWAM Tahlee is a non-profit, international and interdenominational Christian organisation focusing on community development, youth mentoring, training and global outreach.

 

A key principle is to activate the waterfront precinct and provide facilities to encourage day visitors to the site as part of a boating experience from Nelson Bay. Tahlee has a rich heritage being the traditional land of the Worimi People. It was then developed in 1826 for the Australian Agricultural Company and has been extensively used throughout time up to today with its current use for YWAM.  The visitor experience will include the heritage items such as the convict built stone harbour, Tahlee House several other heritage listed buildings and the nearby Marine Nature Reserve.
